Philip Levine
Phil met his wife, Dora in Miami Beach during furlough. They met in a hotel lobby when Dora asked him out to a movie. They married on March 30, 1947 and settled down in Miami. They had 3 children - Connie was born in 1950, Richard in 1954 and Carolyn in 1960. In the 1950s, Phil opened an automotive parts store in Miami, in an area which eventually became known as "Little Havana". The business was extremely successful. In 1974, Phil decided to retire, and moved with his daughter Carolyn to Melbourne Beach, FL, which is 3 hours north of Miami. Dora joined them shortly thereafter. He couldn't stand to sit still, so he went to work for some of the local auto parts stores, until he decided it was time to open another business. He opened Phil's Automotive in downtown Melbourne, eventually moving to West Melbourne. During this time, he loved to collect classic cars and was a member of the local automotive classic car club. Dora passed away in 1981, leaving Phil distraught and alone. Richard introduced him to Charlotte, whom he dated for the next 18 years. In the late 1990's, Phil had his dream house built in Melbourne Beach. He loved to socialize and have parties, and this was the perfect party house! After Phil broke up with Charlotte, he met and fell in love with Agnes at a bridge game. They ended up getting married on May 14, 2005 and were happily married until Phil's death on August 3, 2017 at the age of 94.
